A World War II veteran from Appleton is trying to find a book he lost that covers the history of his Army unit.
Lloyd Ellefson is 98, and he lives on N. Richmond Street on the north side. He says he was bringing the book to Vets and Friends, several blocks away on N. Richmond. He thinks he left it on his car, when he went back into his house to get his hearing aids.
Ellefson says he realized the book was gone when he got to Vets and Friends. He turned around right away to look for it, but it was nowhere to be found.
It’s a red, hardcover book titled “Five Plus One.” It’s about the history of the 93rd Armoured Field Artillery.
Ellefson believes it was somewhere between the 1900 and 2500 blocks of N. Richmond Street in Appleton.
People can call WHBY News if they have any information on the book.
