People won’t be able to buy beer or wine at the Ashwaubenon Performing Arts Center.
School Board President Jay Van Laanen says the board is keeping the alcohol ban in place. He says the facility is on the property of the high school, and they don’t want to send a negative message to students.
Van Laanen says they also didn’t want to set a precedent for other groups that might be interested in selling alcohol on school grounds.
The PAC board proposed the change. President Kate Green says they’ve lost some events in the past because of the rules. She calls the decision a collaborative one that’s right for the PAC, right now.
