CouldĀ this be the Christmas tree that actually gives WAPL’s John Jordan the holiday spirit?
Probably not, but it’s still pretty badass.
“Treezilla” is a Godzilla-based Christmas tree is made by New Zealand pilot Steven Newland. Very recently he put his unique creation up for auction. The tree is approximately six feet tall, has teeth made out of plastic, talons of paper, glowing red eyes… and it can breathe smoke!
Newland and a neighbor have been designing oddly-themed trees for years. In the beginning, he says, “We did a Portal Christmas tree, so half of it went down out of the floor and the other half popped out of the ceiling upside down… since then we do a random Christmas tree each year.”
Back in 2017, Newland made a Pac-Man inspired Christmas tree and Treezilla was created around Christmas 2018. The tree is made from four large Christmas trees, chicken wire, a smoke machine and LED lights.
As of publishing, the current bid is $310 with 12 hours left in the auction. You can look and bid here.
