The elderly woman killed in a fire near Beaver Dam last night was 82-year-old Ellie Neumann.
Her 91-year-old husband, Ruben, escaped from the house on Watercress Lane.
A Dodge County Sheriff’s deputy rescued the woman from the basement, and she later died at a hospital. The deputy was treated for smoke inhalation.
A Madison TV station, WMTV, says the family is releasing the names of the couple.
