All future truck drivers in Wisconsin will now learn how to recognize signs of human trafficking.
Fox Valley Technical College instructors have been teaching students about it since 2012. Governor Evers put a law in place, requiring every program in the state to cover the issue.
Rob Behnke of Fox Valley Tech believes it’s important for drivers to watch out for signs of trafficking when they’re on the road, and call police if they see something.
And Behnke thinks it can be a wake-up call for potential drivers, that they shouldn’t participate in trafficking.
He says students watch videos, and they cover the issue in class for about two hours.
