Appleton police want to put a rule in place, banning people from hanging out on pedestrian overpasses along I-41 and Highway 441.
Chief Todd Thomas says they’ve had recent problems with kids loitering on the Carpenter Street overpass, near the Oneida Street exit on Highway 441. He says some are trying to get drivers to honk, and others are recording videos to try and get clicks on YouTube.
Thomas is concerned that it can be a distraction for drivers.
He says right now, officers don’t have any enforcement tools, as long as people aren’t doing something illegal.
The city council could take up the proposal on Wednesday.
