Minors in Appleton will face fines, or have to take a class, if they’re busted with vaping products.
The city will give kids the option, if they’re caught for the first time.
The fine is about $200.
Public Health Director Kurt Eggebrecht says the American Lung Association created the class and it focuses on how the tobacco companies target younger people.
Police and schools will also now be able to confiscate vaping devices.
President Trump is also taking steps to keep tobacco and vaping products out of the hands of young people. He signed a law that bans sales to anyone under 21. It will take effect next summer.
