It’s been a contentious year of divided government at the state Capitol.
Republican lawmakers used a lame-duck session a year ago to strip some of the powers from newly elected Democratic Governor Tony Evers.
Evers then proposed a state budget that Assembly Speaker Robin Vos says he couldn’t support.
The governor signed the budget, after Republicans reworked it, but the relationship between Evers and GOP leaders remains strained.
