There will be more police officers on the roads on this New Year’s Eve looking for drunk drivers.
In Brown County, the sheriff’s department hopes 2019 will come to an end without a single traffic death that’s linked to alcohol. That’s been the case so far.
Capt. Dan Sandberg believes people are making better decisions, and getting rides. He says they need to stay on top of the issue, continue their patrols, and look for improvements.
Over the past 13 years, alcohol was a factor in about half of the traffic deaths in Brown County. One of the nine crash deaths in 2019 was connected to drugged driving.
