The De Pere police department is using social media to get the attention of people who owe the city money and Officer Jedd Bradley says it’s working.
He says every Monday morning they post a mugshot to the department’s Facebook page under the heading Warrant of the Week.
Bradley is amazed that once a picture is posted the person will quickly call and come in right away to take care of the fine.
Bradley says the people owe the city money from OWI traffic tickets, burglaries and other non-violent crimes.
He says they started posting pictures in 2017 and average a nearly 90 percent success rate.
