Brown County could become a second amendment sanctuary county.
A committee approved a plan last night after listening to both sides of the issue for more than an hour.
A standing room only crowd turned out.
Supervisor Steve Deslauriers came up with the proposal.
He says it sends a clear voice that the county takes the constitution seriously.
Jane Benson of Suamico has concerns.
She says it feels like a slippery slope that reflects an extreme view on guns in the U.S.
The full board will take up the issue next week.
If approved, Brown County would become the second county in the state to have the second amendment sanctuary designation.
Florence County passed a similar law in November.
