It’s going to be a crowded race for Appleton mayor.
Eleven candidates filed paperwork by yesterday’s deadline to get on the ballot.
It’s the first time in 24 years that Mayor Tim Hanna isn’t running.
The city clerk’s office will have to verify the signatures that each candidate had to collect, to make sure there are enough valid ones.
The primary will be on February 18th. The top two finishers will move onto the April 7th election.
Here’s the list of candidates:
Eric Beach
Marsha Brewer
Jim Clemons
Chad Doran
Dana Johnson
Robin Kettleson
Christian Pitsch
Jeremy Scholz
Mark Todd
Christopher Washburn
Jake Woodford
There’s also a race for mayor in Menasha.
Incumbent Don Merkes is running for a fourth, four-year term. Ald. Rebecca Nichols is challenging him. She was first elected to the city council seven years ago.
