A state appeals court is blocking an order to immediately remove more than 200,000 names from the state’s voter registration list.
An Ozaukee County judge initially ruled that the Wisconsin Elections Commission had to take them off. The commission was split, along party lines, on whether to remove them.
The Ozaukee County judge held the panel in contempt, and started issuing fines.
The ruling by the appeals court also blocks those fines while the case continues.
