The three city parking ramps in downtown Appleton could need nearly $12.7 million in maintenance work and repairs.
Public Works Director Paula Vandehey says it would be spread out over 10 years. A consultant analyzed the Red, Yellow and Green ramps.
Vandehey says she was surprised the Red Ramp is in better structural shape than the Yellow and Green ramps. The Red Ramp is the oldest of the three.
The Yellow Ramp needs the most work, with projects topping $4.8 million. Vandehey says they want to extend the lives of the three ramps.
The city’s parking utility will cover the costs. The money won’t come out of property taxes.
