A developer wants to put a restaurant and apartments on part of the Kimberly paper mill site.
Village Administrator Danielle Block says Midwest Expansion will build on top of the foundation of some of the old buildings along the Fox River. She says the mixed-use project would have commercial or office space on the first floor, and apartments on the floors about that.
She says the developer isn’t sure how many apartments will be in the building.
Construction will have to start within two years, and the value of the project has to be at least $12 million.
Midwest Expansion is also developing a neighboring area of the former mill site, and it’s also along the river.
