Governor Evers hopes to spend $8.5 million to help dairy farmers and rural areas in the state.
He wants to hold a special session of the Legislature.
Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos says they won’t vote on the proposals next week. He says he’ll send the bills to committees for hearings.
Evers says it’s time to take action because the farmers need them. He says they’re past the time of arguing over what political party and lawmakers will get the credit.
Evers wants to increase exports around the U.S., help farmers sell more of their products locally, and provide more funding for mental health services.
