While coronavirus is generating a lot of attention, more people are dying from the flu right now.
China is reporting 26 deaths from coronavirus, and there are 15 flu-related deaths in Wisconsin so far this season.
Dr. David Brooks is ThedaCare’s medical director of infectious disease. He says the flu is hitting people of all ages and it’s not something to take lightly.
Brooks says the death rate for coronavirus is currently under five percent, and that’s not considered “high.” He says the symptoms are similar to the common cold, including fever and coughing.
