A controversial sculpture in Appleton could be moved to private property.
Alex Schultz of Sculpture Valley says that’s his intent for The Collective. The piece of art is on the west end of the College Avenue Bridge, and some neighbors have complained about it.
Schultz says if the private property option doesn’t work out, he’s not sure what will happen. He says he’s still waffling a bit. He believes while some people don’t like it, they might be getting used to it. He says others are upset that they could be forced to move it.
The city’s municipal services committee is holding off on a proposal that would force Sculpture Valley to move The Collective. There’s also some question about whether the group would have to pay for a move, or if the city would be responsible for at least some of the costs.
