Voters in Hobart will have a touchscreen option this spring.
The village is using digitized pollbooks, and the Express Vote system, starting with the February 18th primary.
The machine will print a filled-in ballot that voters put into a counting machine, just like with a paper ballot.
Berger says they wanted to start using them in February, because there’s only one local race on the ballot.
She says the machines aren’t connected to the Internet, so there’s no way to hack into them without having physical access to the main server.
