Vice President Mike Pence is highlighting Wisconsin’s school voucher program.
The state became the first in the country to offer taxpayer-funded vouchers to private schools, 30 years ago.
Pence spoke during a rally in the rotunda of the state Capitol this afternoon. He says people in the state should be proud of the state’s history with vouchers.
Education Secretary Betsy DeVos was also at the school choice event. A group of protesters on a different floor of the rotunda booed and chanted several times, to try to drown out Pence and DeVos.
