Ladies and Gentlemen of the Internet, this could be it. A discovery that shakes the foundation of humanity and puts us on a course toward a brighter future. One thing that can bring all people together, healing divides, overcoming our differences to finally achieve world peace.
And that thing is: the 1986 hit rock anthem “Livin’ on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi.
Oh, you doubt me? You say, “Elwood, there’s no possible way that a 34-year-old song from an 80’s hair band could do all that.”
And I might have agreed with you, once. But mounting evidence is leading me to believe that yes, back in 1986 writers Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, and Desmond Child might just have accidentally created a path to a brighter future for all mankind.
Take this most recent case. A lone man sitting on a bench at a busy park decides to start singing. Odd. Out of place. A weird, somewhat annoying thing to just randomly start doing in public.
But then… by the chorus…
Seemingly the whole of the park begins singing along, “Woah, we’re halfway there… Wo-oah! Livin’ on a prayer!”
These people don’t know each other. They come from different backgrounds. Plenty probably don’t even know who the song is by. But they know the words, and are inspired to sing the message.
Still don’t believe me? Isloated case? Nope!
One man’s dancing to “Livin’ on a Prayer” got an entire stadium of basketball fans united. Look at how much fun he’s having!
Another guy randomly singing the song on the train even got another commuter to start singing along last year.
So just remember, when the world seems dark and life gets rough… just take my hand and we’ll make it, I swear.
