A new Farmory will bring sustainable indoor agriculture to the Green Bay community.
The fish hatchery can produce 400,000 fish each year at a time when yellow perch is in short supply.
Executive Director Claire Thompson says the goal is to seed the industry with a steady consistent supply of fingerlings that farmers can grow.
The next phase of the Farmory project is to build an aquaponics farm.
Thompson says they’re going to grow head lettuce and other types of greens.
An open house is planned for spring.
The non-profit is located in what used to be the Allouez water bottling plant and then became the Green Bay Armory.
