A Minnesota man fell short of setting a world record with a rocked-powered snow machine in Waupaca County yesterday.
Kurt Anderson tried to go over 250 miles an hour on Bear Lake, during the Manawa Snodeo.
Ky Michaelson helped build the rocket, and it’s called the Artic Arrow. He says it burns 18 gallons of a special fuel in four seconds. Each gallon costs about $150.
The land-ice speed record has been in place since 1981. Anderson admits it’s hard to say why he decided to try, but he calls himself a driven person.
He built the rocket in his machine workshop.
