A local bus company is trying to find more drivers, especially for school buses.
Lamers Bus Lines held a hiring event at its Menasha location over the weekend.
Dispatcher Rian Schmidt says drivers are a big part of a child’s day, because they see them in the morning and then take them home in the afternoon. He says the kids remember their drivers.
Schmidt says it might not be a job many people consider, but it’s very fun.
Lamers was showing off a simulator that drivers use to train for a variety of situations and weather conditions.
People have to be at least 21 to apply.
