Voters in Appleton will pick their favorite candidate for mayor today.
Eight people are on the ballot, and the top two finishers will move on to the April 7th election. It’s the first time since 1992 that an incumbent isn’t running for Appleton mayor.
City Clerk Kami Lynch says that makes it tough to predict the turnout. She hopes it will be bigger than the typical 20 percent for a spring primary. Lynch says she ordered enough ballots, just in case there’s a 50 percent turnout.
Mayor Tim Hanna isn’t running for another term, after 24 years in office.
Voters across the state will narrow the list for a state Supreme Court seat from three candidates to two. There are also some other local races in the area.
