Kaukauna’s police chief says he can’t release much more information right now on the deaths of two children.
Officers haven’t made any arrests.
Five-year-old William Beyer and three-year-old Danielle Beyer were found dead yesterday morning, at a home on the south side.
Chief Jamie Graff will only say they had “intentionally inflicted injuries.” He says he can’t talk about suspects, motives, or other details about the case. He says they’re working with state agencies and the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner to collect more evidence in the case.
Police went to the home in the 1200 block of Crooks Avenue, after a 911 call. Graff says the caller reported “their children needed help.”
William Beyer was a kindergartner at Tanner Early Learning Center in Kaukauna. The school district sent a letter to parents, and counselors are available for students and staff.
Kaukauna Mayor Tony Penterman released a statement:
“We were saddened to learn of the tragic event that unfolded early yesterday morning in the City of Kaukauna that took the lives of two young innocent children. On behalf of myself, the Common Council, and the City of Kaukauna our thoughts and prayers go out to the families during this difficult time.”
