The arrival of “Miss Saigon” in Appleton is getting some groups together to talk about the Vietnam War, and the local Hmong population.
The classic Broadway musical opens tonight at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center.
PAC spokeswoman Trisha Witt says they hosted a “community conversation” last night, with two cast members. She says they talked about their experiences as children of Vietnamese refugees and immigrants.
An author will speak at the Appleton library at four p.m. tomorrow. From 5 to 6:30 p.m., veterans of the war will talk about their experiences.
The third event is on Saturday, at the Long Cheng Market on S. Lawe Street in Appleton. A panel of community members will talk about the Asian community, starting at 10 a.m.
