The two candidates for Appleton mayor are now focusing on April.
Jake Woodford and Jim Clemons emerged from yesterday’s eight-person primary. Voters will pick the city’s next leader on April 7th.
Woodford picked up 29 percent of yesterday’s vote. He plans to keep doing the same work his campaign did during the primary. He says that includes knocking on doors, and going to events to listen to voters.
Clemons finished second at 27 percent. He plans to approach the rest of the campaign the same way he did during the primary. He says he’s not running against anyone — he’s running for the office.
Clemons spent about 20 years on the city council, until 2013.
Woodford is a special assistant to the president of Lawrence University.
