The daughter of a state lawmaker will spend 13 years in prison for the overdose death of a pregnant woman and other drug charges.
Thirty-one-year-old Cassandra Nygren was convicted of several counts, including first-degree reckless homicide.
Jennifer Skeen of Green Bay was five months pregnant when she died from a fentanyl overdose in 2017. Brown County prosecutors say Nygren and her boyfriend, Shawn Gray, sold heroin to Skeen.
Gray was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Nygren will also spend 18 years on probation after she’s released from prison.
Republican Rep. John Nygren of Marinette is Nygren’s father.
