The state Supreme Court thinks the man convicted of a cold-case murder in Fond du Lac County might need to be re-sentenced for a separate drug case.
Dennis Brantner is appealing, arguing he was charged twice for having different doses of oxycodone.
Justices agreed that it amounted to double jeopardy, and they’re sending the case back to Fond du Lac County court. They’re asking a judge to decide whether to change the sentence.
Brantner is also in prison for killing Berit Beck in 1990. The 18-year-old woman’s body was found in a ditch.
