About 50 Korean War veterans won’t be able to go to South Korea this year because of coronavirus.
Old Glory Honor Flight was planning the trip for early June.
President Drew MacDonald says the CDC elevated its travel warning to the highest level, and that really made the decision for the group. He thinks it would be irresponsible to purposely take 80 to 90 year olds into that area.
MacDonald says there’s a lot of disappointment, because the veterans were excited to go.
He says it’s possible they could try to put together another trip to South Korea in the future, depending on the conditions. He would plan to offer the trip to the same veterans that were scheduled to go.
