Valley Transit can collect more information through the technology that’s available from the bus system’s new app.
General Manager Ron McDonald says they can keep track of how many riders get on, or off, at specific bus stops. He says that can help, when they consider changes to bus routes.
It also records when riders use the mobility ramp. McDonald says they can use that information to see if they need to make more accommodations, like an extra curb cut, or a bus shelter.
Valley Transit launched the app last year. Riders can see the real-time locations of buses, so they know when they need to be at their stop.
