With the risk of flooding returning this spring, emergency management officials want to help people be ready to set up sandbags.
Waupaca County’s Andrew Carlin says they’re concerned about the Wolf River again. He says their soil is 99 percent saturated, so all of the water will be running to the river.
Waupaca County held a training session in New London last night, and there’s one tonight at the Fremont Village Hall. It runs from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Carlin says there are specific ways to fill the sandbags, close them, and stack them. He says when he’s helped in other counties, people didn’t know what they were doing at first.
