The WIAA isn’t planning on making changes for the state girls basketball tournament, over any coronavirus fears.
The three-day event starts Thursday at the Resch Center in the Green Bay area.
Spokesman Todd Clark says they want to put messages on video boards to remind people of the basic things they can do to prevent the spread of viruses.
He says they haven’t made any recommendations to the players, but they have talked about fit-bumps and high fives, without making any recommendations.
Right now, the state Department of Health is putting postponement or cancellation decisions in the hands of organizers of large events.
State Health Officer Jeanne Ayers says that’s because they haven’t seen any cases of coronavirus being spread through contact in the community.
