The state is now under a public health emergency because of coronavirus.
Governor Tony Evers is making that declaration today. He says it will let them access state resources to deal with the pandemic head-on, care for people that need help, and limit the spread of the virus.
State Department of Health Services Secretary Andrea Palm says every effort will be made to keep public services, especially schools, running.
The number of coronavirus cases in the state is now at six. Two of the latest are in Fond du Lac County.
The Department of Health Services is issuing guidelines for slowing the spread of coronavirus. They include a recommendation not to hold public events with more than 250 people.
