The state Department of Children and Families is suspending 20 rules for child care facilities.
The move comes while working families are struggling to deal with the closure of all schools in Wisconsin.
Spokesman Tom McCarthy says the changes won’t put children at risk. He says they’re responding to the needs that they’ve heard from providers.
McCarthy says the goal is to provide more child care options to essential workers, including health care providers and first responders.
