The state is going to start limiting in-person services at DMV locations around the state.
Every office will be closed on Friday, so workers can deep clean each location, and make changes to the layouts for social distancing purposes.
They’ll reopen on Monday.
Driver licenses that expire during the public health emergency will be automatically extended 60 days, and late fees will be waived.
All driver skills tests are being cancelled, until further notice.
Starting Monday, people will have to make appointments to go a DMV location, and they’ll only be able to get a new driver license or ID card.
If people don’t book an appointment, they’ll be helped if there’s time, and enough space in the lobby to wait.
