The Oshkosh Corporation is opening contract negotiations with its employees union.
The current deal with United Auto Workers Local 578 expires in September. Oshkosh hopes to get a new deal before that, because the company has to bid new defense contracts for the valuable Joint Light Tactical Vehicle.
The current deal included concessions from workers to lower the production cost of the JLTV, and helped Oshkosh Defense to win that initial contract.
The company and the union aren’t commenting on the negotiations.
