There are many ways to ‘protest’ something. Signs, organized marches, coordinated social media campaigns… or you could lick the handle of a freezer door at a public supermarket.
I wouldn’t suggest the later in this time of coronavirus but apparently I’m not 53-year old Nona Lindhorst of Marshfield. Luckily you aren’t either.
A manager at Festival Foods in Marshfield said he was cleaning freezer handles in the frozen food section when Lindhorst looked straight at him and “licked the door handle of a freezer door.” The manager immediately sanitized the handle and called 911.
Marshfield Police reports say that when questioned Lindhorst stated she licked the handle “…to protest the coronavirus.” Police informed Lindhorst that, “her behavior was uncalled for.”
The manager declined to press charges.
