The company that’s owed the most money by the owners of the Menominee Nation Arena in Oshkosh is objecting to the latest bankruptcy plans.
Bayland Buildings argues that Fox Valley Pro Basketball will never generate the revenue the group needs to pay off its debts. Attorneys are arguing in federal bankruptcy court that the governor’s ban on large gatherings effectively leaves the arena with no source of income for the foreseeable future.
They also claim that allowing the owners to pay back their $13 million construction loan over 30 years is like letting the group “keep its sinking ship afloat.”
The owners are asking for an extension until the end of June to finalize the plan. The bankruptcy judge will hold a hearing on that issue on April 8th.
