People won’t be able to watch sturgeon at Bamboo Bend in Shiocton this spring.
The village is closing the area because of coronavirus, and high water levels.
Police Chief Amber George says there’s no way they could enforce the social distancing rules. She says the village board made the decision based on the health and safety of the community.
She points out there are online cameras, at the Wolf River Cam website.
George doesn’t think the flooding along the Wolf River is nearly as bad as last year.
She says the high water is impacting streets and parks, and they’re getting sandbags ready, in case homeowners need them. She believes the water levels are expected to peak today.
