A Korean War veteran originally scheduled to go on an Old Glory Honor Flight to Korea died from coronavirus.
Jerry Simonar of Luxemburg was 87.
The trip was canceled in February, because of COVID-19. At that time, he told Action 2 News he didn’t want to catch the virus, and pass it on to others when he got home.
About 50 Korean War veterans were signed up to take the trip in June.
Simonar was the first person in Kewaunee County to die from coronavirus.
