A custodian for the De Pere School District is the only one in the state in a national contest.
Benjamin Zimmerman is one of the 10 finalists in the national Custodian of Year competition from Cintas. He’s been with the district for 19 years, and he was nominated by one of the teachers.
Zimmerman calls it humbling. He says it’s been fun to see students using social media to encourage people to vote.
The winner gets $5,000 in cleaning supplies for their school district. Online voting ends on Friday.
