The Wisconsin Republican Party is postponing its state convention to July.
The move comes while GOP leaders are trying to overturn the state’s “safer at home” order that runs until May 26. The convention was initially scheduled for May 15 and 16 in Wisconsin Dells. It’s now planned for July 10.
State Party Chair Andrew Hitt says even if the state’s guidelines expire sometime in May they wouldn’t have enough time to have a successful convention.
