A website believes people in the Appleton area will have to wait longer than most in the country to get their federal stimulus payment.
Magnifymoney.com ranks the community ninth in the U.S. for the lengthiest wait time.
Researcher Chris Horymski says that’s because 22 percent of taxpayers didn’t file electronically with the IRS. They’ll be getting a check.
People that file electronically are getting their money through direct deposit. Those payments went out earlier this month.
The Wausau area is ranked third in the nation with 23 percent having to wait for paper checks.
