The man shot and killed by Green Bay police officers last weekend was 42-year-old Elder Melgar.
Police say Melgar was shooting toward another person in the 2800 block of University Avenue early Saturday morning. The state justice department says two officers shot at Melgar, and he died at the scene.
Police also arrested 34-year-old Manuel Hernandez after the shooting. He’s in the Brown County jail on possible charges.
The state is handling the investigation.
