The family of two brothers from the Seymour area who were killed in Missouri last year reached a $2 million settlement in a wrongful death lawsuit.
The family of Nick and Justin Diemel will get the money from Garland “Joey” Nelson, Nelson’s mother, and the family’s cattle business.
Nelson is charged with two counts of murder, and prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty.
The Diemels went to Missouri last July to collect $250,000 from Nelson.
(The earlier version of this story had a different amount that was updated by the Missouri court system website.)
