People itching to get back outside in Wisconsin will face a threat besides coronavirus.
It’s the peak tick season.
Prevea Health Dr. Amy Romandine-Kratz recommends wearing long sleeves and pants, in wooded or grassy areas. She says you should also check for ticks on your body, when you get back inside.
She stresses that it takes over 24 hours for a tick to actually transmit the bacteria into the blood, so people don’t have to panic if they find one right away.
Wisconsin has seen the number of reported cases of Lyme disease double in the past decade to 3,100 in 2018.
