The Fox Cities lost one of its biggest philanthropists with Oscar Boldt’s death.
Walt Rugland was a longtime friend, and he says Boldt helped start the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region. He was also heavily involved with the YMCA of the Fox Cities, and Trout Museum of Art.
Rugland says Boldt considered the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center his greatest achievement.
Boldt was a World War II veteran. He joined the Air Force after high school.
