Appleton police are setting up a formal way for community members to talk about issues.
Chief Todd Thomas wants to have 15 to 25 members on a new board. He says the community advisory board will be a resource, and give the department input on what the community would like police to do, and how they can improve.
Thomas says the department has had a community advisory board in the past. He believes it’s important to bring it back, in the wake of the death of George Floyd, and protests over the past two weeks.
He expects to set up an application process over the next couple of weeks.
